The Accidental Zoo LBG

AGC Membership No. 490

Description Aims and Objectives

Our mission is to provide services that create a ripple effect of positive experiences to educate, inspire and support individuals living within the Bailiwick.

Our vision is twofold:

i) To promote a more engaged, connected and supportive community with a greater sense of positive mental health and wellbeing.

ii)To engage young people as more successful learners leading to greater opportunities in life and fewer mental health issues as they move toward adulthood.

At its core the charity has resources which consist of rural fields and a range of animals which include farm animals, reptiles and invertebrates.  The resources are harnessed to deliver:

i) Curriculum linked, topic specific workshops which deliver on the learning outcomes that teachers desire and which engage children in exciting and new ways of learning.  The majority of these workshops are delivered as 'learning outside the classroom' experiences.

ii) Services that include Wellbeing Matters, an evidence based social prescribing programme to which adults are professionally signposted and which aims to support islanders wishing to improve their feelings of mental wellbeing and physical health.
