Description Aims and Objectives

Rotary Guernesias is a fun and sociable club actively involved in local, national and international charities. As part of the Rotary International network, we bring together passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds who share a common goal: ‘Service above Self’.  We are dedicated to making a positive difference in Guernsey and the rest of the world

In 2024, we successfully launched our first ‘Harbour Hoover’, followed by a second in 2025. These hoovers work 24/7 to clean up our marinas removing plastics and other rubbish, making a better environment for residents and visitors but especially for the marine life.

In partnership with the Rotary Club of Bangalore in India we were awarded a Global Grant to initiate an eye screening project for diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma in rural Karnataka in India

Every year 5,000+ shoeboxes go to disadvantaged children inEastern Europe thanks to the generosity of islanders. We host an annual teaparty for 100 senior citizens. In June we take a cohort of children from LeRondin School (and their teachers) for a beach activity morning followed bylunch and entertainment. We sponsor the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards with theRotary Club of Guernsey whom we work alongside helping organise the SafferyRotary Walk raising many thousands for island charities.

All our Admin costs are paid from our subs. Every pennyraised for charity goes to charity.

We raise money for many local charities, national charitable organisations such as Wessex Hearbeat, including Rotary Heartbeat House, internationally Shelter Boxes Aqua Boxes, Water Aid, End Plastic Soup and End Polio Now.

All our Admin costs are paid for from our annual subs. Every penny raised for charity goes to charity. We are not just fundraisers. The Rotary motto is ‘Service Above Self’.

Organisation and Management

Through a president elected each year there is a network of teams that initiate and organise a variety of fund raising, service and social events. Financed by membership subscription for all administration costs. All fund-raising monies go directly to the Rotary Guernesiais Trust Fund which is used solely for charitable purposes.

We meet most Mondays at 18:15, usually, at the Guernsey Yacht Club, Castle Emplacement in summer. From Monday 6th October until Monday 27th April 2026 at Les Rocquettes Hotel.
