Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands

AGC Membership No. 136

Description Aims and Objectives

We fund, support and champion charities in the Channel Island charities that make a positive difference to the lives of people who are socially excluded and disadvantaged people, enabling them to play a fuller role in the community. Alongside funding for charities in Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney, we provide developmental support including mentoring to help charities to improve their resilience and sustainability.

In 39 years, we have given £25m to charities in the Channel Islands.

Our strategy is determined by our Trustees, who meet four times each year to discuss and agree grant applications.  We support charities which demonstrate good governance and sustainable activities measured against identifiable outcomes. Priority areas for support include:

- Health including mental health issues or a disability

- Homelessness

- People leaving institutional care to live independently

- Addiction and recovery

- Loneliness and isolation

- Employment, literacy, financial literacy and debt problems

- Human rights
