Ambulance & Rescue Service

Our aims and objectives

Ambulance and Rescue Guernsey provides the Emergency Road Ambulance Service (999/112) on behalf of the States of Guernsey, through a grant from the Committee for Health & Social Care. The grant is a contribution towards the operating costs of the service, with the remaining costs being met in a variety of ways including the annual ambulance subscription scheme.

We also provide the non-emergency patient transfer service for Guernsey and the Emergency Ambulance Service on behalf of the States of Alderney.

Ambulance and Rescue Guernsey also partners with the voluntary St John Ambulance Guernsey LBG charity, to provide the clinical patient care aboard the Flying Christine III marine ambulance. The Flying Christine III is crewed and maintained by a volunteer crew of professional mariners from the St John Ambulance Guernsey LBG charity. The costs for the Flying Christine III are derived from a combination of charges, income generation schemes, donations and bequests.
