The Lihou Charity LBG

Our aims and objectives

The Lihou Charity LBG (formerly The Lihou Charitable Trust) is a locally registered charity set up to preserve and improve Lihou House for the benefit of the general public and for the benefit of those who by reason of their youth, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances have a need for such facilities.

The House is available to any family, business, special interest, youth or school group who want to experience the beauty and tranquility of the island when cut off by the tide.

Lihou House and its facilities are orientated towards school and youth groups - the House is equipped as an educational residential hostel, with the bedrooms being mainly dormitory style accommodation.

Organisation and management

There are 4 Directors and a Management Committee made up of other interested parties and/or individuals.

Finance is from donations, and the hiring out of the House using a 'Robin Hood' scale of charging, whereby school and youth groups pay the least and private and corporate groups pay the most to subsidise the school and youth groups.

The Lihou Charity LBG employs one full time member of staff, the Warden, who is there to manage and maintain the House and its guests.
