Guernsey Disability Alliance
Our aims and objectives
The Guernsey Disability Alliance (GDA) brings together individual disabled people, carers and the charities that support them, to work together on common issues, raising awareness and driving for change.
Members includes people with reduced mobility, sensory impairment, learning difficulties, mental health issues or long-term illness. Plus their families, carers and more than 40 local disability charities.
Our long-term aim is equality of opportunity for persons affected by disability. There is no Disability Discrimination Act in Guernsey and the island has not yet signed up to the UN Convention on the Rights of Person's with Disabilities (CRPD).
As a result of GDA campaigning, the island now has a Disability and Inclusion Strategy - https://www.gov.gg/article/152970/Disability-and-Inclusion-Strategy. Find out more on www.gda.org.gg or about our partnerships campaigns with Access for All website www.matter.gg
