Our aims and objectives
At the Guernsey Blind Association, we’re dedicated to helping people with visual impairment live independently, confidently, and fully. Whether you need advice, equipment, training, or simply a friendly place to connect, we’re here for you and your family.
What We Offer
- Friendly support and practical guidance for anyone affected by sight loss
- A welcoming Resource Centre where you can try magnifiers, audio tools, and daily living aids
- Specialist mobility training, including long cane and sighted‑guide support
- Financial help with eye tests and glasses for adults and children
- Home visits for those who need support in their own environment
- A weekly Thursday afternoon activity group where people can meet, chat, and enjoy different activities together
Opening Hours
Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9am–2pm, with home visits available in the afternoons. Additional times can be arranged if needed.

Organisation and management
The Guernsey Blind is managed by a team of Trustees who meet every other month, providing the continuity of the service provided within the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
A part time, term time secretary is employed working between 9am and 14.00, a Vision Support Advisor and an Orientation and Mobility instructor who are employed full time.
The Audio news team run a weekly Talking Newspaper sent in the post to over 100 homes!
Financed by donations, bequests, fund-raising, and member subscriptions. All money raised is used for the residents of the Bailiwick.
