St James
Our aims and objectives
The original Friends of St. James Association was formed in 1981 to bring about the restoration of St. James and then to administer the building as a concert and assembly hall. The Association has since been replaced with St James, a company limited by guarantee, which has the same aims as the former Association
As the premier concert hall and event space in Guernsey, St James has become a community hub for the whole of Guernsey. It presents a full range of events and also hires the Hall and the linked Dorey Centre to third parties for events.
St James hosts concerts of all kinds, seminars, marriages, vins d'honneur, receptions, dinners, displays, lectures, dances and more.
Organisation and management
St James is managed by a Board with oversight from an advisory Council elected by the Members who ensure that St James continues to operate in the interests of the whole community of Guernsey
All Friends of St James can become Members and can vote at Annual General Meetings
St James is managed by a small dedicated team headed by an Executive Director and assisted by a team of volunteers acting as duty managers, box officers and stewards.
