Wellbeing Animals Guernsey (WAG)

Our aims and objectives

A network of caring individuals who, with their dogs, provide animal assisted therapeutic benefit to people of all ages and in a variety of situations.

WAG therapy dogs help many people as part of an holistic approach to health and wellbeing.

Research has shown that just stroking or talking to a non-judgemental animal can help in many ways, including reducing stress and anxiety, helping to improve quality of life and enhance mental wellbeing. Whether this be a person who is hospital bound, in a nursing home, suffering from anxiety, dementia, or even loneliness; the benefits of pet therapy are evident.

We have fully assessed WAG dogs available for visits within the community but we need more to enable us to share the benefits of stroking and talking to a pet.

Organisation and management

Managed by a committee made up of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, committee members and volunteers.
