Christian Aid

Our aims and objectives

Christian Aid is a bridge built by the churches to span the gap between those in greatest need of help and those able to give it - regardless of whether the gap is of distance, race, culture or religion. The end product of Christian Aid programs is the self-support of individuals, communities and nations and total rehabilitation from the ravages of endemic poverty or from major disasters. Christian Aid works where the need is greatest in over 70 countries world-wide, for the poorest of the worlds poor.

Organisation and management

The Guernsey Council of Churches Christian Aid Committee consists of approximately 15 members who co-ordinate and organise the year round activities (including work in Alderney and Sark). The Committee is directly responsible to the Guernsey Council of Churches. Christian Aid HQ in London provides much practical help and advice.
