Nature Commission

Our aims and objectives

The Nature Commission recognises that our natural environment is declining in biodiversity and hence health. We are working to reverse this trend by protecting and enhancing Guernsey's natural environment for the health of our economy and well being of our island. The Nature Commission provides support in the delivery of the States of Guernsey 2020 Strategy for Nature.

Enhancing the islands natural environment within a generation is our overall goal and to achieve this our aims are:

- Encourage our island community to connect with nature.

- Increase awareness, understanding and support for nature.

- Care for nature and reduce pressures on our natural environment.

- Share knowledge about nature through education.

- Increase knowledge about Nature and share information effectively.

Organisation and management

The Nature Commission currently employs 3 people - CEO, Head of Operations & Education and an Ecologist.

The Board of Directors meets monthly.
