Our aims and objectives
Alderney Children'sCentre is a community-focused charity dedicated to supporting children andfamilies in Alderney. Operating as an unincorporated association, the charityfunctions as a hub for education, family engagement, and child-centredactivities. It aims to enhance the well-being of children and parents byproviding learning opportunities, recreational facilities, and social support.
The charity's core mission is to create anurturing and enriching environment for children and their families. Itsobjectives include:
? Offeringeducational and advisory services to children and families.
? Actingas a community hub for family engagement, learning, and support.
? Providingrecreational activities that promote physical and creative development.
? Organisingcultural enrichment events, including theatre, cinema, and festivals.
? Facilitatingcooperation between Alderney and Guernsey in the delivery of social services.
? Providing parental education throughworkshops and accessible resources
Activities:
SubsidisedChildcare: Full time(7.30am - 5.00pm) , year round registered early years care (ages 0-5) andregistered holiday club (ages 5 - 12) provided at subsidised prices.
Educational& Advisory Support:Helping families access guidance, workshops, and developmental resources.
FamilyEngagement & Support:Providing a welcoming space for families to connect, learn, and receiveassistance.
Recreational& Creative Activities:Offering play-based learning, physical activities, and creative workshops.
Cultural& Community Events:Hosting events such as theatre performances, cinema screenings, and seasonalfestivals.
SocialServices Liaison: Workingwith agencies in Guernsey and Alderney to ensure families receive necessarysocial support.
Organisation and management
Alderney Children's Centre is led by aCommittee, which oversees its governance and ensures the charity remainsaligned with its objectives. The key roles within the charity include:
