If you can help please call 257261 or email steve@gspca.org.gg Once again our stall will be full of great games & GSPCA goods, as promoting our BIG BUILD Appeal. Please pop along to support this wonderful event and pop by and say hi. More about the West Show - The West show is arguably Guernsey’s premier agricultural and horticultural show. Held annually since 1913 the West show is a traditional country show with many modern aspects, and this year being the centenary it promises to be bigger and better than ever. The show this year has the main two days as usual on the Wednesday and Thursday with the usual tented competitions and animal competitions together with the arena entertainment and side displays. Held since 1985 on a site of approximately 35 acres at the former L’Eree aerodrome, the West show is the highlight of the summer for many from the western parishes who look forward to meeting up with friends they haven’t seen since the previous year and also of course people from all over the island and visitors alike. Crowds of 8,000 over the two main days are not unusual. To visit the West Show facebook page please click here https://www.facebook.com/WestShowGuernsey . Air Search Runway Run 2023
Channel Islands Air Search

Islanders will once again have an opportunity of running on Guernsey Airport’s runway later this year. The third Channel Islands Air Search Runway Run, sponsored by BDO Guernsey, is due to take place after 9.00 p.m. on Saturday, 2nd September and will allow runners to experience the novelty and excitement of this fun event, whilst also helping raise money for the voluntary local life-saving search and rescue charity. This year’s event hopes to build on the success of the Air Search Runway Runs held in 2021 and 2022. The Run will continue as a 5 km course over the runway and taxiways, however, it will be a ‘fun run’ rather than a competitive, timed event. The number of places available is strictly limited to 500 participants, and prospective runners can secure their spot at a cost of £25 per person, including a special commemorative t-shirt to be worn on the night. Enrolment for the event is now open, and is online via RaceNation - https://race-nation.co.uk/register/channel-islands-air-search-runway-run/channel-islands-air-search-runway-run-2023 . Runners are reminded that, as official photographic identification will be required on the night, names should be entered as they appear on the relevant ID when registering. Further information may be found on the dedicated ‘Air Search Runway Run’ Facebook page. Runners are also being encouraged to raise sponsorship, which will be facilitated through Race Nation’s SportsGiving service.
