A Committed and Resiliant Sector, Challenges Persist

106 organisations contributed, giving us the most current and detailed picture of the charity sector across the Bailiwick of Guernsey, highlighting both strengths and pressure points.

The insight reinforces how essential charities are to island life.

The survey highlights a resilient and committed sector, with strong volunteer contributions and growing ambition to collaborate with businesses. Despite this strength, charities continue to face real challenges, particularly in recruiting skilled volunteers and trustees, and balancing capacity and financial pressures as demand for services increases.

Together, this evidence strengthens the Charity Sector Manifesto asks and gives the AGC a clear mandate to advocate more effectively for the sector, target support where it’s needed most especially from the business community and help charities respond to growing demand across the Bailiwick.
