Priaulx Library

Our aims and objectives

The Priaulx Library is Guernsey's local studies centre, established in 1889 We celebrate Guernsey's unique identity with our Guernsey Photographic Archive, the finest collection of local newspapers in the Channel Islands, and books and documents on Guernsey's language, history and culture

We welcome islanders and visitors into the island's first free public library, guide them in their research and put on exhibitions and other activities that promote the study of local history.

Organisation and management

The Priaulx Library received grant funding from the States of Guernsey The Council of the Priaulx Library is responsible to the States for the care of the collections
