Our aims and objectives

The aims of the Citizens Advice Service are:

* To provide the advice people need for the problems they face

* To improve policies and practices that affect people's lives

The Citizens Advice Service provides free, independence, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities It values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination

Services Provided

General advice available by phone on 242266 or in person by appointment on 242266

Monday 9:30 to 4:00

Tuesday 9:30 to 4:00

Wednesday 9:30 to 6:30

Thursday 9:30 to 4:00

Friday 9:30 to 12:30

The Money Advice Service is available by appointment only

Organisation and management

This is a local charity affiliated to National Citizens Advice. There is a Management Committee with two full-time equivalent paid staff plus 40 volunteers including trained Advisers and Money Advisers, Policy & Research, IT and Admin staff. Their work is mainly funded by the Friends of Citizens Advice Charity Shop operated by a further 40 volunteers; other donations and a partial grant from Social Security.
