Description Aims and Objectives

We are here to provide care and support for anyone living with Motor Neurone Disease in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, as well as their carers and families.

Working closely with local health professionals, our aim is to provide the kind of support that allows those living with the disease to feel secure, safe and supported.

We loan medical equipment, help with fundraising, provide volunteer visitors and promote public and professional awareness and understanding of MND.

In short, we do all we can to make sure the best care and services are available for anyone diagnosed with the disease.

Organisation and Management

Guernsey Motor Neurone, is responsible for the day-to-day running of the charity.

There is a full local committee consisting of:-

Money is raised from fund-raising events, collecting tins, donations and legacy's.

All money raised within the Bailiwick, stays on the island to support local patients, other than an annual amount sent for research projects in the UK.

Volunteers Needed

Events

The Big Hour

The Big Hour takes place throughout February 2025 and has been set up to raise funds for Guernsey motor Neurone, whilst continuing to maintain awareness of this condition. Money will be raised through a variety of fun events that will offer something for everybody. Volunteers will host an event for an hour (or more) and participants will pay to take part (suggested minimum donation of £10 for most events) For more information email jean.owen@cwgsy.net or visit the GMN facebook page where events will be posted.
