Bright Beginnings operates a Children’s Centre, which opened in 2017 in response to the 1001 Critical Days Agenda. The Centre offers a range of free activities and support to families from the antenatal period to the age of two years and on into preschool. There is also a nursery on site. A number of children attend the nursery free of charge by means of a grant from ESS.
In addition, since 2012 we have been training volunteers, both individuals and staff from corporates to support local children’s reading development within schools. The programme enables children to develop crucial skills to become more confident and independent readers, which is essential for learning and self-esteem. They also develop a greater love and enthusiasm for reading.
