Dog First Aid Course 11900 Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) On Thursday 28th March we hold our first dog first aid course of 2019 at the GSPCA with a focus on helping save your dogs life. Taking the course will be GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne who has over 20 years working in the field of animal rescue and with over 3000 animals through the doors every year at the GSPCA the team see cases of animal first aid on a daily basis here in Guernsey. Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We have been running dog and cat first aid courses for over five years and have trained over 250 participants to help save animals lives.” "We have ‘Casper’ who is our model first aid dog a bit like the Annie doll many may know for humans and he is a great way to show and learn how to carry out CPR on an unconscious dog." "The next Dog First Aid Course will be on Thursday 28th March at 6.30pm and the next cat course will be on the 20th May." "As owners of pets our worst fear is not knowing what to do if our four legged friend has an injury and this training helps pet owners learn and understand ways to help save your pets life." Within the sessions you get the chance to learn about what to do if you were faced with an emergency situation with your dog or cat.
