Glitz, glamour & poop - GSPCA have a Torteval scarecrow entry
Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)

This weekend why not pop to Torteval and support their annual Parish event which draws thousands every year. With over 60 entries in the Torteval Scarecrow Festival there will be plenty to see and also do at this fantastic annual event. For the third year, thanks to a GSPCA Torteval volunteer Mr McIntyre the Animal Shelter will be entering our entry 'Glitz, Glamour and Poop'. A GSPCA team went down earlier today to set up our entry 'Jessie Beagle You've Been Caged' and watch out as you're on camera. A team of volunteers led by GSPCA staff member Seb Goman have been extremely busy preparing our entry and we are excited to have it all ready for the judging tomorrow morning. Steve Byrne GSPCA MAnager said "Seb and the GSPCA team of volunteers have had great fun preparing for the Torteval Scarecrow Festival." "It's always a fantastic family event and we would like to thank everyone involved for letting us take part with our entry 'Glitz, Glamour and Poop'." "It's been an extremely busy few weeks here at the GSPCA but the team have been working into the night to get our entry ready between helping so many rescue animals." Seb Goman GSPCA Animal Care Assistant said "We've had so much fun preparing our scarecrow entry and after a busy year with so many animals and so many kind awards we have a very exciting entry called 'Glitz, Glamour and Poop'." "Please do pop down and see our entry with over 60 others at the Torteval Scarecrow Festival and thank you to all that have helped." White Ribbon Day
Safer LBG (Domestic Violence Forum)

White Ribbon Day is an International campaign to stop violence against women. Safer will be holding a flag day on Saturday 25th November, which is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This also marks the start of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign which ends on the 10th December, Human Rights Day. This is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world. Here it is a time to help put an end to domestic abuse of all kinds in Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm. It also helps Safer to raise funds to support victims of domestic abuse locally regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religon, disability or other characteristic. If you would like to help by being a flag seller please email Sue on events@safer.gg.
