This Sunday 14th July 2024 pop into St Peter Port to join the Motor Festival Seafront Sunday.
The GSPCA have been welcomed to this wonderful event and will have a stall along the seafront with our many games raising funds for the hundreds of animals in our care.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager will be there and is looking for volunteers and if you can help please email her - steve@gspca.org.gg
It all takes place on the 14th July and we will be setting up near the Taj Restaurant and the days events begin from 10am until 4pm when the packing away begins.

Volunteer Induction Evening
Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)
The GSPCA couldn’t do so much without our incredible team.
There are many ways to help the animals in our care and we are currently looking for a number of volunteers to help in a range of roles.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “At the GSPCA we have an amazing team and currently we are looking for those that want to help us do all that we do in a variety of roles.”
“Last month was Volunteers Week and we couldn’t do so much without so many incredible volunteers.”
“One role is to become a dog walker, with often dozens of dogs in our care from boarders to those in needing our care we are looking for volunteers that are 16 or over to help us not just in the week but also on the weekend.”
"Pictured is one of our amazing volunteer dog walkers Richard and the other day when walking arounf our lovely grounds with a dog a baby bird came and kept him company."
“You can help regularly or occasionally we plenty of flexibility to help us especially with walking the dogs as we strive to get them out as much as possible.”
“We also have many other roles, one being helping with our animal ambulance especially Monday and Wednesday evenings.”
“Those that help volunteer on the animal ambulance you will often hear them called animal wardens and many of these help 6pm until 8am ensuring we have 24/7 cover but we also have weekend day hours available if anyone would like to help us with our rescue work.”
“With any volunteer role the easiest way to apply is to complete our online application form which only takes a few minutes and we can then get you started.”

Today we are excited to be launching our GSPCA Virtual Pet show in conjunction with Pukka Tukka
Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)
Today we are excited to be launching our GSPCA Virtual Pet show in conjunction with Pukka Tukka for Pets limited.
Absolutely any kind of pet can be entered into the contest including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, lizards, snakes, fish, tortoises, chinchillas, ferrets, horses, goats and any other animal that you own as a pet. We will also have a wildlife class and a special memorial class for those friends who are no longer with us.
Entries will be taken from Friday 5th July until Wednesday 31st July. Winners will be announced on Monday 12th August via our Facebook page. Winners of each category will receive a goodie bag which will include: a rosette, certificate, GSPCA merch and a special gift for your pet, the wildlife in your garden or in memory of those no longer with us; kindly donated by Sam and her best friend Nell from Pukka Tukka.
Our class list:
1. Happiest pet(s) - let’s see your pet at its happiest; in the mud, eating dinner, making a mess!
2. Family selfie - as important members of the family, pets bring us so much joy. We'd love to see your family.
3. Animals in action - whatever your pet enjoys doing we'd love to see them; jumping, digging, running, flying, swimming
4. Sleeping pets – and relax.
5. Magazine cover model - photos that would make the front cover of a magazine; all of our pets are superstars.
6. Red carpet reptiles - let's not forget the reptiles in our lives
7. Pet most like its owner – funny how we end up looking like our pets
8. Cheekiest pet (s) – show us your mischievous little angels.
9. Wildlife in the home / garden - this can include any species; birds, spiders, snails, anything at all!
10. Gone but not forgotten - in memory of much loved but lost pets. The friends that have passed but never leave our hearts.
How to enter:
You can enter as many categories as you like
Minimum donation of £5 to enter as many classes as you like. All money raised will be directly donated to buy treats, toys and gifts for the homeless animals in our care.
