Awards

Awards are a valuable way to recognise the dedication of your staff and volunteers and highlight the difference your charity makes. They can boost morale and pride, while increasing public confidence and awareness of your work. Taking part can also strengthen your reputation and open up new opportunities for support and partnership.

The King's Award for Voluntary Service

The King’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest recognition for volunteer-led groups in the UK, equivalent to an MBE, celebrating outstanding work in the community. The Bailiwick has a strong tradition of volunteering and a significant number of local groups and charities have already been recognised through this prestigious award. Open to volunteer-led charities and community organisations, it recognises sustained impact and excellence, with nominations typically made online and awards announced annually.

Pride of Guernsey Awards

The Guernsey Press Pride of Guernsey Awards celebrate individuals and organisations making an outstanding contribution to the Bailiwick, with nominations typically opening in late spring or summer and winners announced in October. Categories relevant to charities include Community Hero, Carer of the Year, Diversity & Inclusion, Sustainability Hero and Sports Volunteer, and nominations can be made via the Guernsey Press website or published forms.

BBC Make a Difference Awards

The BBC Make a Difference Awards recognise people and groups improving communities across the UK, with nominations usually open early in the year (often closing in March) and winners announced at regional ceremonies later on. Categories suited to charities include Volunteer, Community Group, Fundraiser and Environmental Awards, with nominations submitted online.
